People that want to visit the Costa del Sol from Germany, or indeed visit Germany will be pleased to hear the announcement of seven new airline routes which now include Dortmund, Cologne, Nuremberg, Hannover, Munich, Munster and Hamburg.

In total 22 new airline routes have been added to the schedule at Malaga Costa del Sol airport. As well as Germany there are new and additional flights to and from Oslo and Bergen in Norway; Copenhagen (Denmark), Brussels (Belgium), Paris (France), Warsaw (Poland), Knock (Ireland) and to Belfast, Gatwick and Cardiff.

Domestic routes will also benefit with the additional flights to Madrid-Barajas and another two to the North African enclave of Melilla.

Since its expansion Malaga Airport is handling many more passengers and it is expected that tourism to the area will increase significantly as a result.

In 2012 some 959,217 German tourists we handled by Malaga Airport. During Easter 2013 the airport handled a massive 1,514 flights with a large percentage of those international and within Europe
