Duquesa, also know as La Duquesa or Puerto de la Duquesa is located in the province of Malaga.

Travel time from Malaga Airport by car is about 1 hour 10 minutes although the nearest airport would actually be on the British territory of Gibraltar, which would be about 25 minutes away.

Duquesa is a very popular holiday resort on the Costa del Sol, especially for the British, as well as being a very sought after area for property buyers looking for a good priced property with stunning views and local golf courses.

Duquesa is mainly known for its stylish port / marina which is lined by a very good choice of shops, bars and restaurants. It has also become a popular area for golfers as there are a few good quality golf courses close by.

As you arrive at Duquesa, one of the first things that catches your eye is the fact that it has been constructed in a typical style of an Andalucian white village.
Many of the apartments look out across the marina and there is always a great atmosphere with lots of people buzzing around Duquesa port throughout the year.

There are a good number of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops in Duquesa and the choice of cuisine is vast. From Indian and Chinese through to Italian and Spanish. The atmosphere in Duquesa is quite lively and the bars provide entertainment through to the early hours of the morning.

Duquesa has become a popular location for people to live who work in Gibraltar as it is a fairly short drive, so you will find many expats living in and around the area.

There are ample parking facilities in Duquesa, which is pretty much a luxury nowadays on the Costa del Sol. In the Puerto de Duquesa there are a number of free parking spaces provided by two main car parks, as well as ample street parking.

The shops and restaurants are all along the edge of the marina which gives a fantastic setting and ambiance in which to do a little “al fresco” dining, and of course some people watching.

Access to Duquesa is very easy from anywhere on the Costa del Sol as it is just off of the main A7 / N340 highway and like the majority of the Costa del Sol, it is served very well by bus service to and from the other main resorts along the Costa del Sol.

Duquesa is sandwiched between to other popular towns of Manilva to the east and Sabinillas to the west.

On the coastal side of Duquesa the main area is the port (Puerto de la Duquesa) and on the other side of the road is the golf course, which then climbs into a number of residential complexes. These are popular for holiday rentals as it is a short drive down to the port and beach.
