If you are a parent on the Costa del Sol you are urged to take extra precautions with your children’s safety.
Unconfirmed reports over the last few days state that three young children who were playing outside in the Bel Air part of Estepona, were the victims of an attempted abduction.
They were playing by the football pitch not far from the garden centre in the Urbanisation Bel Air when the incident occurred.
One of the children who is aged just 8 said that a white van pulled up and a man got out and offered him sweets and a Playstation in order to try and coax him into the van.
Luckily the lads had been told by their parents about the dangers of getting into vehicles with strangers and did not accept. The man drove off when a woman passer by disturbed his alleged attempt to abduct the kids.
Businesses and parents on the Costa del Sol have launched an awareness campaign via Social Media in order to warn parents about this predator, and to urge them to teach their children about the dangers of talking to strangers.
